Living the good life

February 20, 2020
My niece loves it when Rob says, "rough life", I hope that she has as nice a life as we have.

You want to know one of the interesting things I notice about my blogs?  I have my own style of punctuation, capitalization and just plain manipulating the English language. I think I write the way I talk minus the Maine accent. But I don't think you care.

There is a boat in the slip next to us.  It is the funniest thing.  He introduced himself as Mahty.  Immediately Rob and I asked him if he was from Maine. Nope Massachusetts! What!!! He doesn't have r's in his alphabet.  His hame is Marty.  I never knew that MA had a deeper accent than Mainers. Mahty is talking out side our boat and I heard him say, "Theah" meaning there goes so and so.

My last post was just before NYE, time to update you on the good life. Since that time it has been very cold here, very hot here and very fun here. There have been very few days that we have been boat bound.

January is the month for boaters to recover from Christmas and the new year celebration and plan their next move.  I would say lots of the people we know head south to Marathon in the Keys. Good for them.  We were thought about going but it didn't work out.

Just an aside.  Does it take you longer to get ready for bed than it use to?

We have been in Fort Myers since 12/16/2019 and will be here until the middle of April, that is a change of plans.  We will be going to St. Pete and that brings us to about 2 weeks away from the marina.  We will keep our spot here. Rob has tickets to go to the the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg I have no interest in going, but I won't be bored aboard the boat. When this season is over we are not bringing the boat back to Myrtle Beach, but leaving it in Florida at Safe Cove Marina in Port Charlotte. We both will miss our Osprey family and our regular time we spend with our Myrtle Beach family, the Whittiers.  We will make it a plan to visit with them too.

We miss W and D immensely so we have made it a point to do speaker phone visits quite often. The older we get the more we value our buddies.  Maybe you feel the same way.

It has been another year enjoying the first two weeks of February organized around Edison's birthday, taking several trips to Cayo Costa, at last going to Sanibel and enjoying friends visiting from Maine.
We took our Maine friends for a boating picnic down to Manatee Park.  Sitting on anchor and having lunch was very special.

Be sure to take in all the collage pictures there are some very special shots and you never know maybe you are in them looking your best.  Friends always look their best.

Look forward to seeing the pictures of our great vacation, oops-retirement.

Irresponsibility!!!!!
This boat belongs to live aboards.  This is the 4th time they have been "on land".  They don't have a
good anchor, they don't have any money because they don't work. They endanger others
because when they float around with no anchor they could do damage to others
or some other tragedy.

Thanks to Rob for taking most of these photos
