Where is Linda Jean

April 1, 2019

I thought I would do something different this year and send you a short blog post on our way back to Maine. We decided we didn't  want to hurry home in break neck speed, full throttle, burn rubber, or go like the wind. Well you get the idea.  At the onset we thought we would be pressed to get back to Osprey and then home by May 1st. It turns out that we are not going to have to hurry.

We left River Forest on March 29th and traveled to make it to Jones Fruit Dock anchorage. The following day March 30th we anchored in Titusville at the NASA Railway Bridge.

March 31 st we decided to get a slip at the New Smyrna Beach City Marina for 2 days to be protected for the predicted storm.  We wanted to stay for 3 nights but the marina only had 2 days available.

April 1st we are still at the city Marina we have been very busy so far.
We joined other people there and sat to watch the passing boats.  It was fun watching the boats pass and to spy on them with our binoculars and VHF radio.  Some of the boats turned in the marina.  There were a lot of little boats on the water enjoying what was left of there Sunday afternoon before going to work.

  1. Have you been to the Kingsley Plantation off Sisters Creek, anchorage? It is fairly shallow, but we stayed there and dinghed in for a tour of the place. We had a 4' draft. It is interesting because Ana Kingsley, a slave from Africa, married the man who bought her and then after he died she became the owner of the plantation and the other slaves.
That ice cream looks dangerous Stay safe and have a great trip to Osprey.
